Kuma Biodiesel Stoves

View our film about making biodiesel made by BioLyle and his son Matiah This video is mostly for fun, and much of it is really outdated and actually shows what NOT to do, especially safety-wise. The parts that are still relevant are: 1) how to get the oil from a drum and 2) titration mehtod, although the base amount of lye stated in the video should be 5 g / liter, not 3.5 (and I now use 11 g / liter KOH which has many advantages). The parts that are unsafe: mixing the lye with the methanol using a drill with a paddle (since drills can produce sparks), using a mask while working with methanol or methoxide (since it won't protect you, although an organic vapor mask will give you some protection for a while), pouring the methoxide into the warm oil, and a few other things that are pointed out via captions. So with those caveats, enjoy!
