Accessories

Here are links to a few items that will be helpful for you to make biodiesel with a BioPro:

Something to allow you to unload a drum of methanol:

A pump for the methanol:

  • I like this rotary barrel pump which is simple and chemical resistant, and the perfect height if your drum is on a dolly, for the nozzle to fit in the BioPro ports. Here's a cheaper one- also good.
  • Here's another one a lot of people like

Pump for getting oil from drum:

A plastic barrel for your wash water (must hold 45 gal). Check craigslist or in King County, the IMEX exchange under plastics.

An aquarium heater (200 - 300 W) to keep wash water warm-see aquarium supply stores or ebay

For sources of chemicals, see the Chemicals page or Homebrewing Supplies page.

To test your oil to see whether it has acceptable Free Fatty Acid level, get the Go/No Go kit
